Bradford sex abuse foster carer Robert Taylor dies in jail
An ex-school chaplain jailed for raping and sexually abusing youngsters he was fostering has died days after being sentenced to just about 15 years in jail.
Robert Taylor, 52, carried out the abuse at his dwelling in Bradford, the town’s crown courtroom heard.
In sentencing him on 12 August, Judge Jonathan Rose advised Taylor his crimes have been “disgusting perverted behaviour”.
The Ministry of Justice confirmed the loss of life at HMP Armley in Leeds however supplied no additional clarification.
A press release mentioned: “HMP Leeds prisoner Robert Taylor died on 17 August and the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman has been informed.”
The defendant admitted 17 counts of sex offences towards youngsters, together with six rapes.
Judge Rose advised him he had engaged in “degrading, humiliating behaviour” and he could be on the sex offenders register for all times.
